Urban Heat or Global Warming; Let's Talk Facts

Many people watching the wild weather in the Midwest and in the Northeastern parts of the United States claimed it is due to global warming. However, this is disingenuous and a misrepresentation of fact. You see, mankind is not affect the weather that much but due to all the concrete we have put in, in many of our cities it does keep the surface temperatures about 5 degrees hotter than normal. When the surface temperatures are 5 degrees hotter that is similar to the ocean surface temperatures when they become hotter and help fuel Hurricanes.

If you look at the weather radar across the United States you will see that as soon as weather fronts across areas such as sprawling metropolitan cities there are lots of thunderstorms. This is constant by all the concrete warming the air and that air rises and mixes with the normal weather airflows. This exacerbates the weather situation and causes more intense storms.

Indeed Urban Heat is an issue, but it is not global warming and it is unwise to infer that these storms are being caused by global warming. When people talk about man's affect on the weather and climate change it is much better if people understand what is really going on and what is purely fiction.

It is unfortunate that liberals are pushing a global warming agenda, which does not exist and using bogus academic reports to back up their political ambitions. There are ways to solve the urban heat problem, but it will require coatings rather than a simple reduction in greenhouse gases or pollution. Please consider this in 2006.
